Mistake One Ignoring the Difference Between Indoor and Outdoor Ratings

A laser light that works beautifully in a dark nightclub may fail within weeks when mounted outside. Rain gets into unsealed housings. Humidity fogs up lenses. Summer heat causes cheap components to overheat and dim.

Outdoor units need specific features. IP65 rating means the housing is protected against dust and low pressure water jets from any direction. Operating temperature range matters because a unit rated for zero to forty degrees Celsius will struggle in direct summer sunlight or freezing winter conditions.
